The Center of Rare Rheumatic and Auto-Inflammatory Diseases in Children is the largest center in Lithuania of diagnostics, treatment, teaching and research of rare rheumatic and auto-inflammatory diseases in children. Specialists at the center treat patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, vasculitis, systemic connective tissue diseases, auto-inflammatory diseases and other connective tissue disorders. We provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The Center has access to pediatric rheumatologist, nephrologist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, neurologist, otorhinolaryngologist, infectious diseases specialist, pulmonologist, oncohematologist, geneticist, adult rheumatologist consultations, state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment technologies: laboratory, genetic, pathologic, radiologic, instrumental diagnostics, pharmaceutical and intraarticular treatment, immunotherapy, biological, chemical therapy, apheresis. Patients and their families receive psychological and social support.

Features

Center of Rare Rheumatic and Auto-Inflammatory Diseases in Children is one of the largest centers in Baltic countries. Each year 900-1000 patients are consulted, 500 of them receive inpatient services. We also provide continuous treatment with biologic and biosimilar drugs (~200 patients/year) and intraarticular injections (~200 procedures/year).

There are over 100 patients diagnosed or suspected with an auto-inflammatory disease in the Center of Rare Rheumatic and Auto-Inflammatory Diseases in Children monitoring system. Center of Rare Rheumatic and Auto-Inflammatory Diseases in Children has access to clinical, biochemical, microbiological, immunological, genetic testing, radiological diagnostics. 

Center of Rare Rheumatic and Auto-Inflammatory Diseases in Children is an affiliated member of European Reference Network on Rare Primary Immunodeficiency, Autoinflammatory and Autoimmune diseases (ERN RITA). More information about ERN RITA: http://rita.ern-net.eu/ 

The Center has created a unique monitoring system, which is used to collect data on newly diagnosed cases, monitor the course of the disease and assess the effectiveness of treatment. Data is constantly renewed and analyzed.
Research

Biomedical research and development is a top priority for our competence center. Specialists at the center plan epidemiologic studies of treatment results and improve treatment protocols according to evidence based medicine.
