The Informatics and Development Center (hereinafter – IDC), a division of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics, is a leader in healthcare innovation and technology. At the Center:
- The most advanced information systems and technologies are implemented to ensure effective patient treatment, improve service quality, and enhance the safety and reliability of healthcare processes.
- Various initiatives are coordinated related to data management, the integration of electronic health records, the implementation of medical equipment, and the development of IT infrastructure.
- An advanced hospital information system, SANTA-HIS, has been developed, which includes electronic health records, laboratory data, image archives, and other critical components. This system is used not only at Santaros Clinics but also in other Lithuanian healthcare institutions, serving as a foundation for the efficient delivery of healthcare services across the country.
- The IDC actively participates in a wide range of project activities, including national and international IT projects that strengthen the healthcare IT ecosystem and ensure better data management and more efficient service delivery. At the national level, the IDC is involved in the development and enhancement of systems that improve inter-hospital collaboration and ensure the security and accessibility of data. Internationally, the IDC contributes to innovation implementation and the creation of common standards for more efficient healthcare service delivery and improved patient care outcomes. These projects involve both the integration of medical equipment and the development of complex IT infrastructures, ensuring the deployment and maintenance of state-of-the-art technologies.
- The IDC is actively engaged in international initiatives aimed at integrating artificial intelligence, deep learning, and other innovative solutions into the healthcare sector, thereby contributing to the application and development of global healthcare standards.
- The Center operates a data center that stores more than 3 PB of medical information and over 2 million images, ensuring high-speed data processing and strong data security. The data center infrastructure supports various systems, including SANTA-HIS, PACS, MEDPAS, and their components, allowing for effective and reliable management of health data across the organization.
- The IDC employs more than 100 highly qualified IT and IS professionals, including data analysts, medical IT experts, software developers, systems architects, healthcare process specialists, and project managers.
- Technological solutions are continuously improved to achieve the highest service standards, paving the way for future innovations. Each of our specialists contributes to the improvement of different areas: IT and IS professionals are responsible for the development and maintenance of information systems, data analysts optimize data management and analysis, while healthcare experts ensure that technological solutions meet the needs and requirements of the medical and healthcare field.
