Elena Jurevičienė – head of centre 

Elena2520Jureviciene35b15dHead of VUL SK Joint Centre for Competencies and Biomedical Research, coordinator of pulmonary hypertension competence centre, pulmonologist at the Centre of Pulmonology and Allergology. Holds master of business administration degree since 2004. Pulmonologist since 1998, management experience since 2000. Member of European Respiratory and Lithuanian Pulmonologist societies. 

Since 2013 Elena is involved in EU joint action programs in chronic and rare diseases, she is a board member of CHRODIS plus (Integration of good clinical practices in chronic diseases). During 2015-2018 she was a member of European Respiratory Society working group on Physical activity and rehabilitation for people with severe pulmonary hypertension. Since 2018 – primary investigator in Prospective registry of Newly Initiated Therapies for Pulmonary Hypertension – Compera international project.

Professional interests: management of rare diseases, pulmonary hypertension, multiple chronic diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and comorbidities.

Dr. Birutė Tumienė – coordinator

 

TumieneDr. Birutė is a clinical geneticist at VUL SK Centre for Medical Genetics, coordinator of VUL SK Competency Centers, coordinator of Competency Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders and lecturer at Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine. She has defended a doctoral thesis “Genomic factors in epilepsy etiological structure and diagnostics”. Dr. Tumienė is actively involved in EU rare disease joint action programs, is a member of various international organizations: board member at European Reference Network Member States, Lithuanian representative and coordinator of Orphaet, board member at European Joint Rare Disease Research Program, board member at European Society of Human Genetics, member of Lithuanian professional and scientific societies.

Professional interests include: rare diseases, genetics of epilepsy, inherited metabolic disorders.


Karolis Šablauskas – medical doctor 


karolis2Karolis is a clinical geneticist in training at VUL SK Centre for Medical Genetics. He was instructor of Vilnius-Lithuania iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) 2016 and 2017 teams. Karolis worked on developing novel phenylketonuria treatment approach PheLoss. Teams were awarded gold medals and a grand prize in iGEM synthetic biology competition in Boston. Since 2018 he is the chairman of the board of Lithuanian Junior Doctors and junior doctors representative in UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) clinical genetics board.

Professional interests include: information technology in medicine, rare movement disorders, artificial intelligence in medicine.

  

Lauryna Pranė – senior specialist 


DSC 4852Lauryna is senior specialist at VUL SK Nephrology Centre and Coordinating Centre for Rare Diseases. She has obtained master of health politics and management degree degree in 2015. At the Coordinating Centre for Rare Diseases, Lauryna works with patients waiting for kidney or kidney-pancreas transplantation monitoring system. She organizes and coordinates multidisciplinary physician meetings. Lauryna coordinates clinical trials in Nephrology Centre since 2017. Her work includes communication with patients and healhcare professionals for rare disease patient care, participating in conferences or meetings with patient organizations, training in international clinical trial courses.

Professional interests include: patient monitoring systems, e-health, healthcare policy in Lithuania and EU, healthcare organization and quality control, rare disease case management.


Dovilė Jančauskaitė – medical doctor (pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart defects)


FotoDovilė is a cardiologist in training at VUL SK Centre of Cardiology and Angiology. She has been working as a medical doctor in the department of adults congenital heart defects where she coordinates cardiogenetic testing and organizes cardiogenetics medical team meetings. During 2017-2018 Dovilė took part in international research studies: Pregnancy & Heart Disease Registry - ROPAC, NOTE - non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants for thromboembolic prevention in patients with congenital heart disease registry. In 2018 she completed a fellowship in the centre of congenital heart defects in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Since 2018 Dovilė has been a researcher at Prospective registry of Newly Initiated Therapies for Pulmonary Hypertension - Compera.

Professional interests include: pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart defects, congenital channelopathies, cardiomyopathies and aortopathies.
